Types of Free Zones Companies
Branch office – an associate of an existing parent company in the UAE or abroad. A Branch Office can perform all the activities of the parent company provided the activities are permissible under the U.A.E. laws. No minimum capital requirement or registration fees.
Free zone establishment (FZE) – single partner (Individual or legal entities). The minimum capital requirement Dhs. 1 million (US $ 270,000)
Free zone company (FZCO) – Minimum 2 and maximum 5 foreign partners
(Individual or legal entities). The minimum capital requirement is Dhs. 500,000.
Free Zone companies are permitted to operate in the respective free trade zone and outside the UAE. Operation within the mainland can be undertaken only through a commercial agent (on
commission), representative (for marketing), or distributor (on profit).
